The Maine Drawing Project, Where to Draw the Line 2011, Drawn and Quartered
“Drawn and Quartered” is an exhibition of four Heartwood faculty members who use the act of drawing as their primary tool. Jayne Adams, DeWitt Hardy, Susan Wilder and Wade Zahares have each executed four drawings through an investigation of a single subject. These solo efforts will essentially be an “unplugged” exhibition of the private process of working artists.

CRITTERS, A show of paintings and sculpture at UNE
CRITTERS: A SHOW OF PAINTINGS AND WORKS OF SCULPTURE CURATED BY NANCY DAVIDSON ON DISPLAY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND ART GALLERY
PORTLAND, Maine – The University of New England Art Gallery is hosting “Critters” - a show of paintings and sculpture curated by Nancy Davidson, April 12 through July 20, 2011 with an Opening Night Reception on April 12, 2011 from 5-7 pm.
“Critters” represents three groups of work: wildlife, farm animals, and pets in situations that may be heartwarming, entertaining, or even poignant for the viewer. The show not only includes the “critters” we interact with every day, but also those that may have been forced from their habitats as our human territory expands and others that may soon disappear forever. Over 100 artists will be featured, not only from Maine, but also from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Florida.
